Expertise….
Karen is a key member of Haworth & Nuttall’s family department, and her expertise is in private and publicly funded family work including divorce, separation, disputes between parents regarding arrangements for children, injunctions, financial applications and change of name deeds.
Karen is a fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, and a qualified youth worker and has previously worked as such at Kaleidoscope in Blackburn.
Background…
Karen started as a clerk at Roebucks in 1986 before commencing her ILEX qualifying exams and part time law degree whilst working at Parker & Pickles in Blackburn. Karen then moved to Farleys as a matrimonial executive before her arrival at Haworth & Nuttall in May 2005.
Karen is involved with the National Trust and does voluntary work with local youth organisations. To relax, Karen enjoys arts and crafts, dancing, travelling and going to the theatre. She is married to Alan with whom she has a daughter.
A typical day…
“I start off with a strong coffee and then my day includes everything from sorting post, making phone calls, meeting with clients, drafting documents and attending court. Having said this, one of the great things about the job is that everyday is different.”
First day at Haworth & Nuttall….
“My over riding memory was the friendliness of everyone. It was someone’s birthday and biscuits were offered round. With biscuits and smiles on offer I knew I would settle in just fine!”
